Weber One Touch Silver Review

Weber has been an icon for high quality grills for many years. They even have a flagship restaurant in Chicago called “The Weber Grill” (food there is very good). So I finally got a basic Weber One-Touch Silver charcoal grill from Home Depot.
This grill is simple to use and has the right amount of features: adjustable openings on the top and bottom, a small pan underneath to catch the charcoal remains, wheels so the grill can be moved easily, a handle – all basic functions with nothing fancy that you don’t really need.
To use the grill, all you have to do is dump charcoal in the bottom, douse it with lighter fluid, light it, let the coals heat for a while (15 minutes is usually good), and plop your raw steaks on top. Then put the cover on, making sure some air vents are open so the hot coals don’t go out (fire needs oxygen, even though it’s not exactly fire the coals are still burning).
Nothing can top the taste of a charcoal-grilled steak. Gas grills might be easier, but charcoal tastes way better and is worth the extra hassle.
For a simple, basic grill, this grill is a great choice. It’s inexpensive and easy to use, even for a beginner.
The only thing I didn’t like about it was cleaning out the burned charcoal. There is a handle that moves blades on the bottom of the grill to stir the charcoal and push some of the charcoal dust out through the vent holes in the bottom. Unfortunately it doesn’t rotate enough to reach every area in the bottom, so eventually you’ll have to turn it upside down to get out all the charcoal remains.
Other than this small point, I love my Weber grill and recommend it if you don’t want to spend too much money but still want a decent grill.
