Weber One Touch Grill

Review of the Weber One Touch Gold Grill

The sleek design of the Weber One Touch Grill will look great on your deck. Constructed of premium steel that is then coated with porcelain enamel for durability, this grill cooks evenly and quickly. The grill stands up well to the elements.

The grill has built in hinges for easy access to the coals during cooking. With a patented One Touch cleaning system, the ash is easily sifted out of the kettle and into a catcher for easy disposal.

This classic design from Weber looks great anywhere and can be taken to the park or the beach for cooking as well.

What We Like About This Weber Charcoal Grill

The Weber One Touch Grill is possibly the easiest thing you'll ever put together for your backyard. The ash catcher makes it incredibly easy to clean. It also encloses any bits of live coals that fall through so the wind doesn't carry them off to start a fire. The vent system is much easier to work with than on older models.

The hinges on the grate make it so much easier to add coals when you need them without having to lift the grate off the kettle. Construction is solid and of good quality. The grill itself is easy to move around as needed.

There is plenty of room to cook lots of food for your family and friends. The porcelain coating protects the kettle for years outside in the weather. The price is reasonable for such a durable, easy to use grill. The ventilation system is great. It allows you to grill directly or indirectly by how much you open or close the vents.

What We Don't Like About The One Touch

The Weber One Touch Grill does have a flaw. The handle on the lid gets really hot during cooking. Be sure you put on an oven mitt for protection. The legs may fall off when you are moving the grill.

There is no way to attach the hot lid to the grill while you are attending the food cooking on the grill. You may want to get an attachment called a Slide-Aside so you can attach it instead of sitting it on the ground. The grill does not come with a cover included.

The ash catcher is tricky to reinstall after emptying. You need to align two index pins and the handle into corresponding slots in the collar, which is also a bit difficult to install. It can pop out of place easily with only slight pressure.

Shipping can cause damage to the grill by making the enamel chip or changing the shape of the kettle. The legs can be wobbly even when they do stay in place. Spot welding in places seems to be weak.

The charcoal grate may not fit properly on the resting tongues. You may need to adjust them with pliers.

Summary

The Weber One Touch Grill does everything it is supposed to do. The minor problems that you may deal with are just that… minor. The grill is easy to assemble and easy to use. It cooks extremely well even for grill beginners. It is durable and lasts for many years no matter what the weather is like.

This Weber charcoal grill is highly recommended for anyone who likes the taste of charcoal grilled meals. There are not many grills that can be delivered and be ready for cooking within an hour of its arrival. The price is reasonable for what you get, and with its longevity, it is a heck of a bargain.
