Weber Baby Q Grill

Review of the Weber Q 100 Gas Grill

weber baby q grill The Weber Baby Q Grill is tiny, yet powerful. Only 14 inches tall, it offers 189 square inches of cooking space.

The Weber portable grill heats quickly to grill burgers, chicken, seafood and steaks with ease. The push button ignition system is easy to use and reliable.

A sturdy nylon grill frame offers stability. The strong cast aluminum body and lid stand up to abuse and travel. They also offer a grill that is lightweight enough to make transportation easy.

The handle on the lid is heat resistant and the cooking grate is easy to clean.

What We Like About The Weber Q 100

The Weber Baby Q Grill is easy to assemble with or without the manual. It looks great, and is small enough to be kept indoors when not in use.

While the burner doesn't get extremely hot, the cast iron grates soak up the heat and make up for this in heat retention. The cast iron grates are easy to clean and they cook food very well. Good, solid construction should last for many years. The stylish design looks nice on your patio or on your tailgate.

It has a large cooking area for the size of the grill, you can cook for a large number of people without too much fuss at all. It does what it is made to do, be a portable grill that you can take anywhere.

It heats up quickly and is easy to use. It is the perfect grill for an RV. Splurge a little and buy a long adapter hose so you can hook it up to a larger gas canister, you won't need to keep buying small disposable canisters if you do. Save the small ones for when you need to take your grill on the road.

What We Don't Like

The biggest complaint we found was with the size of the propane bottle. The Q 100 uses a smaller 14.1 oz bottle rather than the more common 16 oz bottles. Some customers have removed the upper screw holding the support ring, and opened up the ring until the larger canister fit.

Weber does offer an 20# propane tank adapter. This would be great if you plan to keep the Q in the same area and not transport it around.

What Customers Are Saying

Pros

  • "The cast iron grilling surface makes those great searing marks and lets the food cook evenly".
  • "I can't believe how well this little grill works, it does some serious grilling".
  • "For grilling Steaks, Shrimp, Shisk-Ka-bobs, Fish, etc, this BBQ is hands down the best for grilling".

Cons

  • The Baby Q is okay for grilling, but is not appropriate for slow barbecuing.
  • The porcelain coating on the cooking grates make them difficult to clean when cooking marinated foods.
  • It uses a lot of fuel each time you grill.
