Char-Broil 2-Burner Gas Grill Review
I absolutely love to grill. My first grill was a little $40 get-up from WalMart that I fed charcoal to until it roasted up my burgers and chicken kabobs and sweet corn to perfection. I was heartbroken when it got left behind in a move. I went without a grill for about a year until I moved into my new apartment.
My dad surprised me with a house-warming gift of a Char-Broil 2-burner gas grill that he bought from Sears for about $90. I was elated that I would be able to grill again!
I have had the grill for a little less than three months, but have used it at least once a week, even as it gets into the winter season. My steaks are now(Italian accent) molto bene!, my brown-sugar and honey coated grilled fruit is divine, and the inside-out hot chili burgers are phenomenal.
The only thing that I did not like about the grill was the assembly. It was a little more difficult than I had imagined. Once I got in the groove, it was fine, but if you buy the grill: prepare to put in a little elbow grease to get it in working order. There are a lot of tiny loose parts that have to be shaped into the meat-cooking machine it will grow up to be.
I also had a little bit of trouble with having food stick to the grates more so than in previous grills, but a little shot of cooking spray before each grilling session remedied that and the additional purchase of a fish cooking basket helped keep the grates even cleaner.
I would definitely recommend my little Char-Broil grill to anyone who just likes low-tech burger-cooking madness, which I definitely do. You can't go wrong with the price, either. It more than fulfills its duties for the cost and Sears was very helpful when I had to return the model due to damage incurred at the store it was purchased in.
Overall: it is a fantastic little grill and perfect for someone living on their own or grilling for a few.
